Become the Prey Lower me down I think I feel the bottom An overwrought perfectionist’s nightmare It squeezes syllables like lions And concentration camp conventions Feed their waiting stares These sentiments grow fonder They cause my mind to wander And I've become the prey Have you seen yourself today? Pull me up I think I hear them coming This pulley system seems to only work one way Its segments vomit fables They ward off the all-knowing Yet visually betray Can you hear this graceless fumbling? Can you at least turn me the right way? The trees have turned to teeth But these choices have me stay
2.
The Ashes on the Ground These are the paths where we all seem to intersect Our poorly painted silhouettes Not rendered by the floodlights depth And hidden within nothingness We'll hold these truths to ourselves Until we collapse So intersect Fight for freedom like entangled marionettes The ash on the doorstep Is not the only thing you will regret These are the type of places where revolutions are planned Though this place looks as if it won't be used again What does that say about our time spent Staring at the ashes on the ground? It’s not the only sign of things to come It’s not the only path you will have walked

In Doorways 04:01
In Doorways So I've been sitting here silently collecting thoughts Things like, "What are the reasons?" and "What is the cost?" Things fully endearing and superficial wants Piecing together and pulling apart And to conquer this blindly Will show that I'm lost But to give up ground gradually Feels like falling short So let pennies lie At the bottom of wishing wells And let water soak Our skin through our clothes And let our embrace Linger in doorways And let hunger and lust Call on us both
4.
Forever's Not Our comfort unmistakable The wind will breathe you in This sojourn takes us breathless To where we lay our skin Something I once envisioned Something I once left This moment's almost parallel But you are here and forever's not We'll slip into uncomfort The waves will seethe our skin And gather on the shoreline To look upon the wind

Conversations With Ghosts Last night, I saw flashing lights Bridges bent on cutting skylines And like conversations with ghosts The ambulance will never bring you home And when cowards crawl out from understanding The road will take you home And when this abundance of greed Stretches the definition of human being Will anybody know? Last night, the ghosts that led the march were gone The fog no longer magical A filter for life Last night, the cowards fought like criminals Their movements so mechanical Yet lifelike Last night, the note within the sirens call The call that swallowed Summer's song An affinity to life

Jump In 04:45
Jump In Withstand the elements Breathe them in silently, embrace the worst of it Your state of overcast This crimson-laced, panic state will see clear skies at last Follow the evening sun The tears of thousands of hurried chapters overcome Overcame everyone Who’s ever given thought to damages we’ve done Endure the worst of it Feel the storm raging, feel the shackles on your wrists Free your ruined heart Let your melody be the stranger in the dark This, to me A stranger in the company of thieves You will forever be A stranger in the company of thieves These believers follow faith The solemn echo of this panic state To evoke upon these nearby shores The persistent cavalcade of empty force So drive this lonely road And know these dreams are not another casualty And know you have withstood this all before Passive sub-consciousness Be one of thousands who have read this weathered text But imagine differently The images we search but often cannot see Farewell to consequence Give birth to that which death doesn’t understand And through this sanity Throw your shackles down to walk along the edge And jump in
